Unlike to the expectations of most hardware fans, the specifications of the new DVR-110 do not include support for Blu-ray. Pioneer continues its developments of a Blu-ray drive looking at a July/August timeframe for introduction. However, any progress in the format unification issue could make the company change its developing plans.
